Well, after a fairly easy week (besides staying up until 5am to watch the Superbowl on Sunday!), this next week is reading week at SOAS. This means I have an entire week off of class to supposedly catch up on my reading. So what am I going to do with all of that extra time? Go to ITALY, OF COURSE!
Eric and I will be getting up at 3:50 a.m. (about 5 hours from now) to go to the London Stansted Airport to board an 8:30 a.m. RyanAir flight to Pisa, Italy. From Pisa, we will be taking a bus to our first major destination of the trip: Florence. I've been to Florence once before with my family (almost six years ago now), but we were mostly in Rome, and happened to make an 8-hour day trip to Florence. Needless to say, I'm excited to return to some things I've already seen, and explore the city even more!

After 4 nights in Florence, we will then head to Venice, a city I've always wanted to visit. I can't wait to ride a gondola and see the beautiful canals. We will spend 4 nights there as well.

I will not be bringing my computer, so I will unfortunately be unable to blog until I return to London. However, I'm already looking forward to a writing a long and detailed (get excited!) Italy post when I get back on February 16th, so it will definitely be worth the wait! I'm very excited to travel outside of the UK for the first time since my arrival more than a month ago, so wish me luck! Arrivederci!
